Mochi desserts in Odesa with delivery

Mochi is a Japanese rice-dough cake with a filling inside, served frozen. Cappi offers four flavours, each 145 ₴ for a portion of one cake. Add a dessert to your order of rolls or WOK and everything arrives together within 60 minutes.

What mochi is made of

The base is mochigome, a glutinous rice that is steamed and pounded at length into a smooth, stretchy dough. That dough is shaped into a thin shell around the filling — in our case berry and nut fillings on a creamy base. The dough is never baked, which is why the texture is soft and slightly chewy, nothing like European pastry.

Three flavours are berry-based with a clear tartness; the fourth is nutty and the sweetest of the four. The price is the same across the range, so the choice comes down to taste alone.

Mochi is served frozen — how to eat it

The dessert arrives frozen and that is how it is meant to be eaten: the filling stays close to ice cream in texture. If you prefer something softer, leave the cake at room temperature for five to ten minutes and the shell becomes more yielding. Do not defrost it completely — mochi loses its shape. One portion is one cake: a small dessert of a few bites rather than a full serving.

How many mochi to order for a group

Since a portion is a single cake, the maths is simple: one each to finish dinner, two each if dessert is the main event. For a group of four it works well to take all four flavours and share, so everyone tries both the berry ones and the pistachio-halva. Four mochi come to 580 ₴.

Dessert delivery across Odesa

Mochi travels chilled and separately from hot dishes so it does not start melting on the way. Delivery takes 60 minutes to Tairova, Arkadia, Cheremushky, the city centre, Kotovskoho, Sauvignon and Raduzhny. Pay online or in cash to the courier; orders are accepted daily from 10:30 to 21:30. We do not deliver desserts on their own — add them to a food order. Mochi pairs well with green tea or kombucha.
